nVIDIA Finally Gobbles Up ULi - nVIDIA Finally Gobbles Up ULi
Thu, February 23 2006 | 2:50PM | PermaLink Feedback?

Wow analysts say Dell's PC shipments will grow 20-25% this year. Asus aims to ship 20 million disc drives in 2006. nVIDIA has completed its aquistion of ULi.

ATI had also tried to acquire ULi, but the deal fell through as the two companies differed on the price, paving the way for Nvidia to take up ULi, the sources said, noting that ULi started volume production of its latest southbridge chip, the ULi M1575, in the second half of last year. ATI had bundled most of its northbridge chips with ULi’s southbridge chips.
