"Mozilla is an open source software project like thousands of
others you can find information about on the internet. In mid 2003 a not
for profit foundation was established in order for donations to be able
to be accepted to help support the continued development of the
project's endeavors. This means that there are not only volunteer
developers working on Mozilla projects but paid software engineers,
marketing specialists and administrators, making it one of the largest
open source projects in existence. The focus of Mozilla's software
development is on fundamental internet applications - so far primarily
the alternative web browser Firefox and the email application
Thunderbird. This review will primarily cover Thunderbird, from the
point of view of a user migrating from Outlook or Outlook Express under
a Windows environment. Thunderbird does however run on Windows, Linux,
MacOS, OS/2 and Solaris, and it is available in over 30 languages."
