Well it looks like you can get an AMD based system from Dell pretty soon!

Foxconn is currently producing AMD-based servers for Dell, the paper indicated, adding that Asustek is developing motherboards for the AMD platform. The paper also stated that Quanta is in the process of designing notebook models based on AMD processors and that the three contract makers were informed by Dell that shipments of AMD-supporting PCs will need to be ready for a global debut anytime in the future.

Asus will spin off its notebook subsidiary in the first half of 2007. DRAM manufacturers are slashing DDR2 prices to clear out inventory.
