Hmm well this is certainly interesting. Chris Rowen CEO
of Tensilica says that clock speed of processors will only double or triple
in the next 10-14 years.
System power cooling capacity is moving less quickly and theres an
order of magnitude factor emerging. This is even more striking, he said, when
you compare the increase in theoretical clock frequencies over the next 10 or
14 years and the constraints of power means well see only doubling or
tripling clock frequency in the next 10 to 14 years.
Well Computer Associates has officially changed its name to CA.
You have to love Sony for its EULA
on CDs...
The CDs ship with an end-user licence agreement which implies you don't
actually own the CD you have bought. This means that Sony can make certain demands.
These include if your house gets burgled, you have to delete all your music
from your laptop when you get home. That's because the EULA says that your rights
to any copies terminate as soon as you no longer possess the original CD. Of
course you may not possess your computer either, but that could be your responsibily
too.
