First generation Xbox 360 games will be single
threaded and it seems everyone is in shock. Is that really such a big deal
if the titles are good and gameplay is fast? This would suck for Sony gamers,
the PS3 might not
be backwards compatible with earlier systems.
With the recent release of the Satin Silver Slimline PSTwo, it looks like
there are some problems with current generation compatibility, let alone the
40 PS1 games it won't play. This turned attention firmly back to Sony and the
PS3. Joystiq is reporting that Sony spokesperson Reiko Sakamoto said, "It’s
hard to say the PlayStation 3 will be 100 percent backwards compatible, but
as we said earlier this year we aim to make it so as much as possible."

Finally, Negroponte added "we're discussing with Argentina's Education
Ministry ways to me the initial price float between $115 and $100, and then
start to go down to the $90-$80 range, when economies of scale allow more savings".
These systems will feature a 500 mHz AMD cpu, a color display, flash memory
instead of a hard drive and Wi-Fi connectivity.
