More trouble for MP3 vendors in Taiwan. Cheaper DDR2 prices soon? Hmm, AMD plans to simply its CPU platform with its upcoming Socket M2.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) plans to simplify its 90nm CPU platform with its 940-pin Socket M2 CPU design, according to motherboard makers. As Intel schedules to unify desktop PC- and notebook-use processors in the second half of 2006, AMD is looking to standardize a full CPU line for entry-level, middle-range and high-end segments, indicated the makers.
