And so starts the flood of Hurricane Katrina scam emails... I just received a pile allegedly from the Red Cross, but mousing over the "donation link" reveals an illegitimate IP number instead of a URL. Some people. Sheesh.
So here's PCSTATS advice, if you receive any emails from any charities or NGO's asking for monetary donations to the support of Hurricane Katrina, Do Not Donate Money Online. Legitimate relief organizations never send out mass emails, only spammers do this. And for all you know, that fake call for donations could be used to fund the purchase of weapons for some far off war.
If you want to donate to a charity or relief organization, find the 1-800 number and give them a call.
