From a gaming point of view, the HDA X-Mystique 7.1 Gold is an excellent sound card. Every EAX title I could find, including Doom 3, and Battlefield 2 found the EAX support of the sound card without issue and used the same Environmental Audio Effects as a Creative SB Live would, as the card doesn't support EAX HD 3.0 or 4.0. Performance was great when a 5.1 surround sound speaker system was used especially when watching movies.
