The announcement in Japan recently of Microsoft Windows Automotive version 5.0 operating system brings a whole new meaning to the term "blue screen of death"... The BSOD, as any long-time Windows user will tell you, has a nasty habit of popping up and crashing computers with a familiar regularity that time itself seems to enable. The potential anecdotal jokes about BSODs while driving are too numerous to even think of, and from my position as a pedestrian, a Windows Inside sticker on the side of an Escalade barrelling down the road towards me is a scary thought.
In this presentation of the Windows Automotive OS to Japanese media, note where "Safety and Security" land on the list of Microsoft's highlighted features - dead last. Let us know what your thoughts are by using the PCSTATS Feedback page.
