In the end, Resurrection of Evil was much more than I had expected, and is redemption for the damage done to the franchise through the paramount, yet disappointing Doom 3. The gameplay was fresh and fast paced, holding out the style of an arcade shooter throughout. While the storyline in itself is getting quite dated (after opening the gates of hell wide three times, you would think the UAC would have learned).
