Intel expects 45nm server processors to account for almost half of its 2 way server shipments in the second quarter of 2008. TSMC expects good things in the third quarter of this year. On that note TSMC expects to get into processor manufacturing in 2008.

Besides stating that second quarter sales are in line with guidance, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which is speculated to already be manufacturing microprocessors, stated that sales contribution from the production of CPUs may be seen in 2008, according to company chief executive officer (CEO) Rick Tsai during a July 26 investors conference.
