"Comparing the side-mounted array and top-mounted bracket is like comparing two vastly different products. In general, the side-mounted system was very disappointing and didn't work in any of our applications. The top-mounted system worked very well in GTR 2 and FSX, but we ran into some difficulties with BF2142. This has a great deal to do with the fact that there is no TrackIR profile for BR2142 and the software essentially had to "fake it" with a mouse emulator. The Y-axis was backwards and it was generally not of any great benefit to game play in that title. However, in the simulation titles, it worked ostensibly exactly as it should and we had no problems."
