GIGABYTE UNITED INC. have started the GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 MAZE CRAZE web game to promote their latest GIGABYTE Durable 2 series motherboards featuring the Intel P35 chipset. By playing, users not only learn about some of the latest technologies from GIGABYTE, but if successfully completed, can have the chance to win one of their very own GIGABYTE Ultra Durable motherboards.

The GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 MAZE CRAZE contest starts July 3rd, 2007, and ends August 7th, 2007. Participants need to use a steady hand to follow the route and successfully answer a few easy questions for their chance to win a latest GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 series motherboard. If your hand-eye coordination isn't what it should be, don't worry. Participants who forward the game to their friends will be automatically qualified for a chance to win a GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT series PCI-E graphics card.

Ultra Durable 2

Using high quality components on a motherboard is the key factor for having a long lasting, stable and reliable product. This is especially the case for the power circuit design, which features the most critical components of a motherboard. The GIGABYTE P35 Series are the first motherboards to introduce the GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 design, featuring Low RDS(on) MOSFETS for ultra cooling, Ferrite Core Chokes providing optimized power savings and All-Solid Capacitors for extended system durability.

Low RDS(on) MOSFETs - Ultra Cooling
GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 motherboards utilize Low RDS(on) MOSFETs. These differ from regular MOSFETS in that they are specially designed to produce lower switching resistance and utilize lower power consumption. The result is faster electric current charging and discharging and less heat generation, up to 16% lower temperatures than standard MOSFETs.

Ferrite Core Choke Design - Low Power Loss
Instead of using traditional iron core chokes, GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 2 motherboards feature Ferrite chokes that are comprised of a compound of iron-oxide and other metal elements. These metal properties hold energy much longer than common iron-core chokes at high frequency, resulting in lower core energy power loss, up to 25% lower. They also feature lower EMI and resist rust better than standard iron core chokes.

All-Solid Capacitors - Longer Life
GIGABYTE uses Japanese manufactured SMD (Solid Mount Device) Solid Capacitors to deliver maximum stability, reliability and longer system lifetime for general PC usage as well as for improved overclocking performance. In fact, SMD Solid Capacitors last up to 18 times longer than their electrolytic counterparts.
