PCWatch have an interesting article up in Japanese about a new Panasonic chip manufactured with the 45nm process. While the article is a bit beyond our focus (media center systems are more CE than PC), there is a really clear physical model of how small the 45nm CPU process is compared to the standard from just a few years ago - 130nm.
