Before you dive into this review of the Fujitsu P7230 notebook, I should tell you that I swear by this notebook for three reasons: LED backlight, 1.8" hard drive because it can be converted to an SSD drive (solid state 32GB or 64GB at this time), and 2.9lbs weight. For the Core Solo CPU, computing performance is good, but out of the box the 1.8" 4800RPM drive limits load times more than anything else... so bare that in mind when the reviewer talks about lag. Akiba have a comprehensive test report that illustrates a 20% gain in performance just by switching to a SSD Samsung drive.
"This review will be looking at Fujitsu's P7230 ultraportable. This tiny system is part of a new crop of ultraportable's that use LED backlighting in order to get great display performance while maintaining a long battery life. That is the main technological achievement of the system but it is by no means all it has going for it. The P7230 is built on an ultra mobile platform that includes an Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, an optical drive, and a 10.6" display. This smaller format factor allows for a very light weight and great portability but limits the power of the system as well as aspects that affect usability, like the size of the keyboard. "
