My dad just a C2D E6300 along with 2gbs of gskill ram and an MSI P6N SLI board. We were trying to over clock it and couldn't get more than about 2.5ghz out of it. He has a Big Typhoon on it and the temperatures are fine but around 1450-1500mhz fsb frequency it fails to boot. It's sudden to. We have given it extra voltage up to about 1.45v and still nothing. Are there any settings that would interfere with over clocking? The memory is running independently of the fsb at 850mhz with 2v to it. I'm used to overclocking AMD processors so its all new to me. I know it's luck of the draw but i'm slightly disappointed after all the hype I've heard about c2d. We were wanting to push it to about 2.8-3.0ghz. Nothing really, really extreme.
