A recent Chinese-language DigiTimes report on a speech given by retired Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) senior vice president (VP) Chiang Shang-yi brought up some interesting points about how much Moore’s Law will apply as manufacturing migrates from 65nm to next-generation 45nm process technology – with Chiang questioning whether the technology developments can overcome the physical limitations in a way that makes business sense.
