"AMD decided to quietly launch the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ CPU. It has already started to sell these chips, at least in parts of Euroland. The Athlon 6000+ is dual-core, socket AM2 CPU working at 3GHz per core. They are based on the Windsor core, still 90 nanometre and the maximal TDP is a claimed 125W. Each core has 1024KB of cache memory.
The CPUs can be recognised by their AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Socket-AM2 boxed, 2x 3.00GHz, 2x 1024kB Cache (ADX6000CZBOX) name tag. The special thing about this CPU is that it is faster than the FX62 clocked at 2.8GHz and that it matches the speed of Athlon FX74 that works at 3GHz. You can see the Athlon 64 X2 as the new FX for AM2 CPUs. "
