Darth Vader would be rolling over in his space grave right
now if he knew his glossy black trademark look had been appropriated by Samsung
for everything from HDTV's to Cellphones, alarm clocks and computer LCD
displays. What has the rebel alliance come to?!
The Samsung 971P is sleek 19" LCD display with a nice bright
250nits luminosity and killer black 1500:1 contrast ratio. Cost is around $390. Gamers should be
happy with its 6ms G-to-G pixel response times, or not. Gamers never really seem
satisfied by any LCD... The rest of us will croon over the Syncmaster 971P's
178/178 degree viewing angles, standard DVI interface that does away with all
fussy control panel settings, a native resolution fo 1280x1024 pixels and power
efficient 36W in use rating.
A two port USB up is built into the base, but unfortunately Samsung cheaped out and neglected to include an Espresso machine... which would have gone really well with the glossy black plastic. Everyone knows, after 6 hours in front of a computer nothing is better than a latte. Stay tuned to PCSTATS for the full LCD review...
