Late last night high up in the Bellagio, Shuttle computer and OCZ hosted an intimate event for the local computer media gathered to cover CES. Shuttle had on display an innovative small formfactor PC with a custom paint job by Smooth Creations that packed in two Radeon XTX1950Pro videocards and a full watercooling system by Coolit.
OCZ had some new thermal solutions, new water cooling memory parts - memory with integrated water blocks on top - high capacity RAM modules, the OCZ phase change cooling system, and a little thing called the OCZ HXS (Hyper Xtreme System).
The OCZ HXS is a 2000W external powersupply. It demands two separate 15Amp 120V power lines (each must be a separate circuit) and boasts such handy features as a satellite breakout box, individually adjustable power rails, and takes up about as much space as a full SFF system.
The OCZ HXS 2000W power supply will be available as of Q2-2007, is expected to retail in the area of $500, and is big heavy and power packed. Good times for enthusiasts, and its particularly reassuring to know it will be 80+ certified as well.
Max out, live from CES 2007 in Las Vegas
