Foxconn (trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry), among Taiwan-based companies or research/academic organizations, obtained the most Taiwan-issued patents in 2007, while Seiko Epson ranked first amid foreign or multinational enterprises operating in Taiwan, according to statistics released by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
