Micro-Star International (MSI) chairman, Joseph Hsu recently talked about the company's expectations for 2008 including its take in the low-cost PC market, as well as shipments and revenues targets across the company's main market segments: notebooks, motherboards, graphics cards, and IPCs. "Regarding some of the global factors expected to impact to IT industry in 2008 such as the sub-prime mortgage crisis slowing down the US market and China's impending new labor laws, Hsu pointed out that the US market only contributes 20-30% of the company's total revenues and therefore will not affect the company much, he even expects the company's revenues in the first quarter of 2008 will enjoy a 20% increase on year. Although China's new labor laws will have a negative impact to Taiwan-based companies, since all makers will feel the effects of the new regulations, the affect will not be as great as some in the market are predicting, Hsu stressed."
