After Asustek Computer spun-off its OEM/ODM business, the company had originally planned to hire 1,500 employees in the first half of this year and another 1,500 in the second, but with the recent worldwide economy starting to show signs of weakening, the company has decided to suspend its hiring plans for the second half of this year, according to sources in the industry.
