Worldwide PC processor shipments in the third quarter of 2009 rose substantially by an all-time record level for a single quarter, according to data from IDC. PC processor unit shipments in the third quarter rose 23% compared to the second quarter, approximately double the typical growth in unit shipments for the period. In terms of revenues, the PC processor market grew more than 14% on quarter to US$7.4 billion, said IDC.
