Taiwan economy improves in 2Q09, says government |

Taiwan's GDP slipped by 7.54% on year in the second quarter of 2009, less than the decrease of 10.13% for the first quarter, according to statistics released by the government Directorate Generate of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS). The GDP will continue to decline 3.52% in the third quarter before staging growth of 5.49% in the fourth quarter, DGBAS said, adding it shows that the Taiwan economy already bottomed out in the first quarter and began to rebound in the second quarter.
