The word is out that Intel has developed a "quad-pumped" processor bus, say to able to reach clock seeds of 400 MHz when paired up with Intel's next-generation Foster and McKinley server microprocessors. This incredible speed is achieved by doubling or quadrupling the number instructions issued at one time, effectively allowing two or four times the total data speed on the line.
