"NVIDIA's initial foray into multi-display gaming with NVIDIA Surround and 3D Vision Surround seems to be a great counter to AMD's release of the technology for gamers' use back in September of 2009. NVIDIA is finally nearing parity with AMD's 5000-series of graphics cards with DX11 support multi-monitor gaming though they are nine months behind. Better late than never as the saying goes and maybe AMD has created a market that NVIDIA can swing in and take over...? We still aren't sure that will be the case but NVIDIA Surround is definitely a differentiating and compelling option for the PC gamer and enthusiast."

Matrox Graphics Inc.
announces that Remote PowerDesk and Remote PowerSpace software are now
supported with Matrox P690 Series graphics cards, in addition to the already
supported Matrox Epica Series. These multi-display software suites provide
extensive desktop management capabilities to improve the user experience
with multi-monitor desktops hosted virtually using Microsoft® RDP or Citrix®
ICA® protocols.
Previously only available with Epica cards, Remote PowerDesk and Remote
PowerSpace provide users of any remote platform with P690 add-in cards a
vastly improved remote multi-display user experience. Advanced desktop
management features such as Desktop Divider, window maximization to a single
screen, window position recall, and virtual workspaces allow users to
customize application behavior across multiple monitors.
"In multi-display hosted sessions, our remote software offers a better
multi-monitor experience than integrated graphics," states Mohamed Jivraj,
Product Manager - Critical Decision Systems, Matrox Graphics, Inc. "In
addition to better handling of window positioning across multiple monitors,
administrators can auto-program and configure desktop settings on a per-user
basis, giving them more control when deploying multiple systems."
Best-of-breed 2D image quality, unified drivers, and maximum power
consumption ranging between 10W and 12W makes the P690 Series ideal for use
in green computing environments, thin clients, fat clients (desktops), and
docking stations.
