"The unequal dimension of the board has a dual purpose: first of all it
has allowed the addition of I/O ports on both sides and by doing so, the
I/O availability of board has been increased. Having the I/O inputs on
the both sides also means that cables won’t get messed up with each other.
The data flow between the Em-ITX board and expansion boards is through
the advanced Em-IO Expansion Bus. The use of expansion boards increases
I/O accessibility and developers can use both old and modern buses by a
single board, through board connectors."
