ASRock 890GX Extreme4 and 890FX Deluxe4 Motherboard Reviews - PCstats.com ASRock 890GX Extreme4 and 890FX Deluxe4 Motherboard Reviews

"Today we are fortunate enough to have two of these motherboards on hand to put through the paces. The first board that we are going to look at today is the ASRock 890GX Extreme4. A few short months back we took a look at the ASRock 890GX Extreme3. I was impressed with the performance of the ASRock 890GX Extreme3, especially considering that it was priced below the competition. The ASRock 890GX Extreme4 is priced a little bit higher, but it is sitting pretty at $139.99 plus $2.99 shipping which is a decent price, especially if you take into consideration that it is the only AMD 890GX motherboard that is offering front panel Super Speed USB3. The second motherboard that we are going to look at today is the ASRock 890FX Deluxe4. The ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 also offers front panel Super Speed USB3 technology and is based on the AMD 890FX chipset. The ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 is aimed at those looking for the best performance out of a CrossfireX set-up, as it will run dual AMD graphics cards at the full PCIe x16 bandwidth. The ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 is priced at $159.99 plus $2.99 shipping. This low price makes the ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 the second least expensive AMD 890FX chipset motherboard, second only to its predecessor, the ASRock 890FX Deluxe3."

BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD Motherboard Review - PCstats.com BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD Motherboard Review
Mon, May 31 2010 | 12:00PM | PermaLink Feedback?
One of the big pluses with the AMD platform is the ACC or Advanced Clock Calibration. BIOSTAR motherboards have the ability to use ACC to turn “On” the locked cores on an X3 or an X6 CPU with the push of a button. This value added feature is excellent, allowing a 960T CPU to be unlocked to 6 cores from 4 cores. BIOSTAR’s TA890GXB HD motherboard will be available for around $89 making it an excellent choice for the person that wants to build an inexpensive 6 core system. Overclocking is excellent as well with the V8 setting totally stable. This board can even be set up as an inexpensive HTPC option, though you will probably want a better sound option than the 5.1 provided by the board. The HD 4290 integrated graphics is faster than the last generation of AMD, the 790GX integrated and sufficient for casual gaming.
