"We usually see our first big launch coming from video card manufacturers and this year is no different than the last 10 years I have been in this business. AMD has announced the launch of their second generation DirectX 11 video cards codenamed “Barts” (this next line will be named after Northern Islands). These new video cards are still built on a 40nm the same as their predecessor “Cypress,” but have a few upgrades to enhance their performance. AMD (formerly ATI) has updated their tessellation engine for improved DirectX 11 performance, enhanced image quality, via improved AA and AF, and optimized their existing architecture."
