We set out to compare the ASUS 5770 CuCore with the former flagship cards in the AMD lineup, that is the RADEON HD4890 and 4870, based on the idea that similar specs should result in similar performance. The "Partner_Overclocked" HD4890 still commands a price tag of roughly US$230 and up and while it is marginally faster than the ASUS RADEON EAH 5770 CuCore as tested here, there seems to be very little incentive to spend 30% more on the acquisition of that card not to mention the extra power it requires. The ASUS EAH5770 is an excellent card and given the two options, there should be no question which way to go.
