Windows 2000 was released to manufacturing on December 15, 1999. Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000-Advanced Server are scheduled to be available for sale on February 17, 2000. Windows 2000 Data-center Server will arrive on store shelves later in the year. The new operating system offers the ease of use of Windows 98 and improves on the security, reliability and scalability of Windows NTr.
