To introduce MacStats.com as the sister site of Pcstats.com, which we should have online in the next month or so, I have decided to begin with the terrible down side for Mac users. For those of you who like to stay as far away from Mac as possible, here is another very good reason to do so.
With the help of some the better Mac site out there I have learned of the incredible monopolistic control that Mac uses over it products. It seem that Mac puts control over its' distributor's to the extent that they only the MacWarehouse is able to make any cross border sales between Canada and the US. What this effectively does is eliminate any price completion that normally occurs in the free market. This is amplified by the fact that Mac only allows stores that promote the "proper" image for Mac to carry their products. For example, for us living in the large metropolitan of Toronto this mean there is only 6 authorized dealers including the MacWarehouse.
I know I have only skimmed the basics of the real sorry, and hopefully I have left you asking for more info to taunt your friendly Mac users with, but stay tuned for the release of MacStats.com to learn more.
