Gute 10 Monate nach dem Debüt der "Sandy Bridge"-Architektur in den Mainstream-Prozessoren für den Sockel LGA-1155, entlässt Intel nun endlich auch die High-End-Modelle auf Basis dieser Architektur in den Markt. Die Prozessoren unter dem Codenamen "Sandy Bridge"-E richten sich mit einem riesigen L3-Cache, 4-Kanal-Speicherinterface und bis zu 6 Kernen vor allem an die Enthusiasten und Workstation-Nutzer. Ob sie deren Anforderungen gerecht werden, soll der heutige Test mit dem Intel Core i7 3960X klären.
