"When one speaks of "PC Standards", 3d engines, HTML code, and memory management may all spring to mind. But today, I want to talk about something else that is a long time coming. Boxes. Now, you may be thinking, "wtf is this guy talking about?" Good, I am about to explain.
Think about that last time you walked into your local EB or CompUSA. Here are two stores that are filled to the brim with the latest in computer technology, hardware, and software. Now take a look at all of the software in the store. The Playstation games come in an easily identifiable package, the N64 games have their telltale red box, the Dreamcast games are fairly new but their easily identifiable profile is not, and even the DVDs are easily found in their all too common slim packaging."
