Still, as conventions go, PCexpo 2002 did have a few cool things hiding in the Jacob Javits center to look out for.

Aluminum cases from Lian Li

Aluminum cases have exploded onto the markets in a relatively short period of time and Lian Li certainly has built a name for themselves where others have tried. The Taiwanese manufacturer offers a range of cases which appeal to style conscious consumers, or anyone who is sick of the same old plain beige box.

Their small booth at PCexpo was a testament to just how far they have come as they showed off a handful of their newest aluminum cases which drew considerable attention, and crowds. Some of their newer models included the PC-6089A &PC-6085A shown below, a range of stick on aluminum covers for CDROMs, a new low profile PC-9300 desktop (second picture below), aluminum RAID modules, and gigantic aluminum PC-626SCA server cases.

Coolermaster had a similarly sized following at their booth as they were showcasing not only heatsinks but their high-end line of aluminum cases.
