Abstract: The i848P's feature set is almost identical to that of the i865PE except for one thing, there is only one 64 bit memory controller instead of two.

SysMark2002 is more of an extension of SysMark2001 rather then a whole new benchmark. The applications used during testing have been updated and most importantly for AMD users, the new SysMark2002 uses the Windows Media Encoder 7.1 which supports the AthlonXP's SSE instructions.

2. Pentium 4 3.0C/Asus i875P (200/400) 237

6. Pentium 4 3.0C/Albatron i848P (225/360) 235

It shouldn't be any surprise that the Albatron PX865PE Lite Pro comes in last in SysMark2002 when it's at stock. The i848P is good chipset, but quite as fast as i865PE in this case.

Winstone 2002 Source: Zdnet

Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content creation applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows XP.

Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP. Business Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.

6. Pentium 4 3.0C/Albatron i848P (225/360) 49.9

Business Winstone (FSB/Memory)

1 Pentium 4 3.0C/Gigabyte i875P (200/400) 34.5
2. Pentium 4 3.0C/Asus i875P (200/400) 34.5

4. Pentium 4 3.0C/Abit i865PE (200/400) 33.3
5. Pentium 4 3.0C/Albatron i848P (200/400) 31.4
6. Pentium 4 3.0C/Albatron i848P (225/360) 33.2

Again the Albatron PX865PE Lite Pro comes in last. I'm not sure if you'd actually notice the difference in office based applications, but the performance difference in 3D app's should be larger. So in other words, the i848P should make a very cost-effective platform for office workstations that handle typical Word, Web, or other standard office applications.
