Benchmarks: 3DMark2001, 3DMark05

combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, 3DMark2001 SE continues
to provide good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001SE has been created in
cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide
a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance
by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance
abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point
Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene
Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using real-time
physics.

3DMark2001 does not have the programming to take
advantage of SLI, which is why the score is relatively low with the
two
MSI cards running together. We'll
have to wait for the 3DMark05 results to really see what the difference is going to
be...
3DMark05
is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking
series. It is the first benchmark to require DirectX®9.0 compliant hardware with
support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher!
