Benchmarks: 3DMark05, Comanche 4, UT2003

3DMark05 Source: FutureMark

3DMark05 is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark series. It is the first benchmark to require a DirectX®9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shaders 2.0 or higher!

3DMark05
Overall: Points Ranking
Athlon64 3500+ 2.2 GHz (200/400) stock 5666
Athlon64 3500+ 2.66 GHz (242/484) aircooled 5771
Athlon64 3500+ 3.05 GHz (277/498) prometeia 5861
CPU: Points Ranking
Athlon64 3500+ 2.2 GHz (200/400) stock 4878
Athlon64 3500+ 2.66 GHz (242/484) aircooled 5655
Athlon64 3500+ 3.05 GHz (277/498) prometeia 5970

The overall score does not increase much here since 3DMark05 is much more of a pure videocard benchmark. We do see some nice increases in the CPU portion of the benchmark due to overclocking though.

Comanche 4 Source: Novalogic

The Comanche 4 benchmark demo is a unique benchmark as it represents a real-world gaming experience. It contains the single player "Eagle's Talon" mission from the game as well as a detailed cinematic. This DirectX 8.1 benchmark demo will measure your system's performance in the standard frames per second format. The benchmark was run with audio disabled.

Comanche 4
640x480 FPS Ranking
Athlon64 3500+ 2.2 GHz (200/400) stock 71.22
Athlon64 3500+ 2.66 GHz (242/484) aircooled 85.01
Athlon64 3500+ 3.05 GHz (277/498) Prometia 95.23

There's a gap of 24 FPS between the stock setup and our 3.05GHz maximum overclock! It's nice to see a tangible result for your efforts.

Unreal Tournament 2003

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.

UT2003 - Flyby:
640x480 FPS Ranking
Athlon64 3500+ 2.2 GHz (200/400) stock 314.24
Athlon64 3500+ 2.66 GHz (242/484) aircooled 375.12
Athlon64 3500+ 3.05 GHz (277/498) Prometia 412.11
UT2003 - Botmatch:
640x480 FPS Ranking
Athlon64 3500+ 2.2 GHz (200/400) stock 99
Athlon64 3500+ 2.66 GHz (242/484) aircooled 117.86
Athlon64 3500+ 3.05 GHz (277/498) Prometia 127.96

A very healthy increase due to overclocking in UT2003. If you're a gamer, overclocking really does pay off!
