Benchmarks: SiSoft Sandra, Super Pi

SiSoft Sandra 2004 Source: Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

The processor numbers are in line with what we'd expect, but memory bandwidth is a bit on the low side. Looks like SiS has a bit of tweaking to do with its memory controller.

The memory bandwidth numbers are also quite a bit lower than we expected on the AMD platform.

Super Pi Source: SuperPI

SuperPI calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching benchmark. The program allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 thousand to 32 million. Our benchmark is set to 1 Million digits and 19 iterations.

SuperPi loves memory bandwidth and here we see that the ECS PF88 Extreme clearly doesn't have as much as the Intel chipset-based systems.

On the AMD side of things, bandwidth does not seem to be a big problem and the ECS PF88 Extreme performs quite well.
