Benchmarks: Comanche 4, X2: The Threat

Comanche 4 Source: Novalogic

The Comanche 4 benchmark demo is a unique test as it represents a real-world gaming experience. It contains the single player "Eagle's Talon" mission from the game as well as a detailed cinematic. This DirectX 8.1 benchmark demo will measure your system's performance in the standard frames per second format. The benchmark was run with audio disabled.

Comanche 4
640x480 FPS Ranking
Gigabyte GA-81955X Royal (955X 200/533) 57.88
Gigabyte GA-81945P Pro (945P 200/400) 56.49
Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Royal (NF4-SLI 200/533) 57.79

Gigabyte GA-8ANXP-D (i925X 200/533) 59.44
MSI 915P Neo2 Platinum (i915P 200/533) 56.07
DFI LANParty 875P-T (i875P 200/400) 55.72
ASRock 775V88 (PT880 200/400) 54.64
VIA PT894 Ref Motherboard (PT894 200/533) 56.03
ECS RS400-A (RS400 200/400) 54.51
Foxconn 955X7AA-8EKRS2 (955X 200/533) 57.83

Comanche 4 is another game that cannot take advantage of the dual core Pentium D 840 processor's attributes. Frame rates here are good, but if you are a gamer you might be better served with a single core processor.

X2: The Threat Source: Egosoft

A completely rewritten 3D engine based on DirectX8 encompasses many visual effects such as volumetric Nebulae (gas clouds) that have a real impact in the game (you can hide in them) and many new engine, shield, weapon and explosion effects. Objects cast real dynamic 3D shadows! Dynamic DP3 bump mapping allows a previously unseen level of detail.
