Just
because nVIDIA and AMD were bed buddies for a few years doesn't mean the
graphics boys will cut AMD any slack.
Business is business, and with AMD now in the GPU biz,
nVidia has released its killer shark, the GeForce 8800GT. This new GPU
kicks the crap out of everything else in the high end market when it comes to
value!
It's a shame that the various videocard manufacturers
can't ramp up manufacturing of GeForce 8800GT videocards because these things
are definitely in high demand by consumers. If you need a new videocard, set
your sights on a Geforce 8800GT.
MSI has quite an enthusiast spirit and is willing to
overclock just about anything. Its NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC PCI Express
x16 videocard comes with its core and memory speeds clocked higher than the
nVIDIA specification (660/1900MHz vs 600/1800MHz core/memory). It's no surprise
that the MSI Computer NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC is one of the fastest GeForce 8800GT
videocards on the market.
With a retail price of $324 CDN ($330 USD, £161 GBP), the MSI
NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC goes for about half what high end nVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX
videocards retail for. Yet, as you saw in the benchmarks this graphics card
will give you at least 90% of the performance.
The
NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC does not come with any goodies in the box, so if you're
looking for a new DirectX 10 title to play on it better grab something from
the store.
The MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC videocard was impressive in every test PCSTATS tossed its way;
from the awesome FEAR or Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory tests to Lost Planet and
Quake 4. Throughout testing, the NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC was hot on the heels of the
GeForce 8800GTX and that's definitely an impressive feat.
MSI overclocks its NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC by default so
there's not much headroom left for enthusiasts. With the videocard overclocked
3D performance got a moderate performance boost, but realistically speaking this
videocard can handle any game you throw at it as is.
If you're upgrading your system, there is no videocard
on the market that packs as much value as the nVIDIA GeForce 8800GT currently.
It's definitely worthy of all the hype that surrounds it, and trust me, it's
worth the search to find one of these videocards! MSI has made the
NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC into a real beauty by overclocking the card fresh
from the factory. Good value, great performance, recommended.
