FEAR is Sierra's latest first person shooter which relies heavily on DirectX 9 features. With its "Soft Shadows" feature enabled, even the fastest videocards run at a crawl, FEAR is definitely the new benchmark for future FPS games to follow.

In FEAR the Palit 8800GT Super+ 1GB performs quite well, maintaining 73FPS with soft shadows enabled at 1600x1200 resolution. Looks like the extra 512MB of memory helps out in three of these four tests, pushing this Geforce 8800GT card ahead of equivalent 512MB models.
