MSI K7-Pro Motherboard Review - PCSTATS
Abstract: The K7-pro represents MSI's second attempt at the AMD Athlon motherboard market. Did they get it right this time, or fumble trying?

My only gripes with regard to this motherboard are minor placement issues (primary IDE connector, fan headers,) and chipset issues, although MSI can not be blamed for AMD's short sightedness (750 chipset; AGP 2X, and PC-100 only.) The cheap transistors near the Slot A connector (ala FIC SD11) makes the K7 Pro less aesthetically pleasing.  Overclocking performance with the Gold Finger Device left much more to be desired, but until I test it out with another motherboard, I can not conclude if the problem lies with the motherboard, or the CPU itself. Finally the D-LED feature probably could've been left out.  Ultimately in the greater scheme of things, those gripes are minor, and are not too degrading therefore...

I am willing to label this motherboard as a decent, and relatively tweakable motherboard. Why? Because overclocking with FSB adjustments are easy, and for the most part successful.  I was also able to achieve a decent overclock (via FSB.)  To top it all off, MSI includes Anti Virus software to help you protect your files (and your system). For the longest time, AMD Athlon users only wanted a stable motherboard. Now they have one that's also tweakable and fast.
