Unreal Tournament 2003

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.

ASRock 775V88 (PT880 200/400) 80.04
VIA PT894 Ref Motherboard (PT894 200/400) 80.13

The VIA board doesn't do too well in UT2003, and is 20 frames slower than the the high end 925X motherboard!

Unreal Tournament 2004

ASRock 775V88 (PT880 200/400) 110.07
VIA PT894 Ref Motherboard (PT894 200/400) 118.76

The VIA reference motherboard does quite well here in UT2004 and is fighting it out with the 915P motherboard for second place.

Doom 3

Source: id Software

Doom 3 is the most advanced OpenGL game to date. it takes advantage of the latest videocard technology and pushes the processing power of the CPU to its absolute limit. At its highest setting, Ultra quality, texture sizes pass the 500MB mark which means even tomorrow's videocards will have a hard time running everything. The frame rates in the game itself are locked at 60 fps so anything above that point is wasted. Each test is run three times with the third run being recorded.

Doom 3
LQ 640x480 Points Ranking
Gigabyte GA-8ANXP-D (i925X 200/400) 88.5
MSI 915P Neo2 Platinum (i915P 200/400) 83.6
DFI LANParty 875P-T (i875P 200/400) 81.4
ASRock 775V88 (PT880 200/400) 79.5
VIA PT894 Ref Motherboard (PT894 200/400) 78.1

In Doom 3 however, the PT894 tanks it and comes in last a few percent.
