Test Memory and Reference Memory

I'm fortunate enough to have numerous types of SDRAM memory configurations available for this review of TwinMOS PC166. Thanks goes out to Altec Micro for providing the APACER 256MB PC133 SDRAM module. Anyway, enough of me jabbering on, time for the details about the memory used in this review:

TwinMOS 256MB PC166@CAS3
Apacer 256MB PC133@CAS3
Micron 128MB PC133@CAS2
Apacer 512MB PC133@CAS3

Test System Specs:
Computer: AMD Athlon 1GHz @ 1.44GHz AXIA-Y
Zalman CNPS 5000 Plus (all copper heatsink)
Iwill KK266-R (RAID on-board)
2x Maxtor DiamondMAX Plus 40GB @ 7200RPM (running RAID 0 as 80GB)
ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 32MB 4xAGP (185/185 Core/Mem)
Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz 5.1 PCI
3Com 905C 10/100Mb Fast Ethernet PCI
Software: MS Windows 2000 Pro Service Pack 2
Benchmarks: Quake 3 Arena (running 32 bit color mode)
MadOnion 3D Mark 2001 (default mode-all tests *enabled except GF3 exclusive tests)
SiSoft Sandra 2001 Professional Edition All the latest software & drivers were installed.

Just to make things clear from the start, I was not able to get my system to run at over 160MHz FSB…but then again, I was pressed for time and didn’t have a chance to tweak the voltages which were left at default, including the CPU. All tests were performed running at a stable FSB of 160MHz.
