PowerColor PowerGene MX Review
PowerColor PowerGene MX Review - PCSTATS
nVidia's successful GeForce2 MX line of GPU's has almost monopolized the low to mid-end videocard market to the point where I'm surprised they don't have an antitrust lawsuit against them.

Serious Sam Fill Rate Benchmarks

Next is Serious Sam's fill rate test. Conducted in both 16-bit and 32-bit colour.

16-Bit colour

GeForce2 MX400

GeForce DDR

Radeon 64

GeForce 3

Obviously the GeForce 3 is king, followed by the GeForce DDR with the Radeon 64MB Retail right on it's heals. The MX is still respectable though. Let's take switch to 32bit colour and see how the cards do.

32-Bit Colour

GeForce2 MX400

GeForce DDR

Radeon 64

GeForce 3

Very interesting that all the fill rate scores increased. For the nVidia based cards, it can probably be attributed to the new DetonatorXP drivers. They really increase performance. Still, the MX400 is last.
