PowerColor PowerGene MX Review
PowerColor PowerGene MX Review - PCSTATS
nVidia's successful GeForce2 MX line of GPU's has almost monopolized the low to mid-end videocard market to the point where I'm surprised they don't have an antitrust lawsuit against them.

Conclusions

PowerColor has done a really good job with their PowerGene MX. Being a value card, it delivers quite well. While not being up to par in terms of performance with the other cards here, one must remember, the closest competitor is quite a bit more expensive! This is simply a "no frills" video card that delivers more then it's price would suggest. At a retail price of $125 (Canadian) you really can't go wrong in any case.

With the recent announcement of the GeForce2 Ti, GeForce3 Ti200 and GeForce3 Ti500, ATI's Radeon 7500 and the still coming ATI models 7000, 7200 and 8500, it should drive down prices of videocards in general. Its really never been a better time to buy.

Thanks to Ben, Henry, Ken and the girls down at PSI for hooking me up with such a cool card to play with!
