Unreal Tournament 2003

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.

FPS players out there will certainly be happy with the performance of the Albatron FX5900XTV! Only 6x and 8x AA gives unplayable frame rates, everything else and combination provides silky smooth frames.

A very good mainstream card!

As a young company Albatron have done well I think, making a name for themselves based on how their products have performed, not just what price they sell for. Although you may disagree, the last thing this industry needs is another low end provider selling hardware that barely qualifies as reliable.

I think Albatron have been successful in providing high end parts, earning the respect of enthusiasts as Asus, Abit, Gigabyte and MSI have done in the past. If you don't believe me, just ask around in your local computer forum and I'm sure people will back up what I've just said.

Teaming up standards like that with the current mainstream market leader, nVIDIA's GeForceFX 5900XT GPU, means you've got yourself a winning combination for sure!

From what we have seen in the benchmarks, performance of the Albatron FX5900XTV videocard is excellent. In fact, it often out performed the ATi Radeon 9700 Pro, and nipped at the heals of the Radeon 9800 Pro in more than a few comparisons too. The card was a fairly decent overclocker, hitting 468 MHz core and 780 MHz memory, although the highest memory and core ran together was 468/768MHz.

Because the card is fully VIVO compatible, Albatron have included all the necessary hardware to take advantage of those features. I guess the only place where the Albatron FX5900XTV was lacking is the software bundle. Duke Nukem Manhattan Project is a fun game, but it is also really old at this point, and doesn't push the card by any means. If Albatron included a better software bundle, this could easily be one of the best videocards on the market.

If you're looking for a decent mainstream videocard, look no further than the Albatron FX5900XTV. It's performance will definitely keep you happy, if it doesn't, just overclock it. ;-)
