Tomb Raider @ LanOC Reviews
     Sat, May 11 2013 | 9:59A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Tomb Raider is one of those franchises that has been around forever. Whether you are a lifelong fan, or someone who buys different installments periodically, there is always something to do with Laura Croft on her insane adventures. This time we take a look at the plainly titled Tomb Raider, a reboot by Crystal Dynamics that hopes to bring the franchise back to level of glory it had on the original Playstation. I can only hope that there is something as silly and exciting as locking the butler in the freezer to keep me entertained."

Logitech G510s @ LanOC Reviews
     Sat, May 11 2013 | 4:23A | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
In a market that is slowly filling up with mechanical keyboards, there have only been a few companies recently who have been making higher end rubber dome keyboards, Logitech being one with their G510. Logitech recently reintroduced their whole gaming lineup with the exception of the G710+ and we jumped all over the chance to take a look at what they are doing with their bread and butter keyboard. Its Logitech, we have high expectations, hopefully they will be able to beat them."

StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm Review
     Fri, May 10 2013 | 5:17P | Games | PermaLink

Being a big fan of Wing Commander: Privateer in my youth, I was very much surprised to see between-mission dialogue choices. These extra cutscenes are not just there for completionists: they are genuinely engaging. You get to see what a specific character feels like with respect to the recent events. It is a lot of extra dialogue which did not need to exist, but does, and was treated like first-class citizens."

ROCCAT Hiro Gaming Mousepad
     Thu, May 09 2013 | 12:00P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"The ROCCAT Hiro Gaming Mousepad is a perfect size and constructed for durable, mouse friendly materials. The top silicon surface is super smooth for easy mouse movement and bottom is rubber so the pad won't go anywhere. Also, unlike cheaper cloth mousepads, it won't fray because of the materials used and it's bonded together extremely well. As well, this mousepad was tested with over 80 mice. This is a perfect choice for just about any gamer." ~3dGameMan.com

Triple screens – there’s a lot to like. The immersion these type of setups can offer is nothing short of revolutionary, but there are issues, big ones. This isn’t a fluff piece to simply promote triple screens or Eyefinity, this is an in-depth analysis of why it can be brilliant, yet rarely is.

GX Gaming KMH 100 Gaming Kit Review
     Wed, May 08 2013 | 1:04P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"Many people do not have the right gaming gear when they first build or purchase their computer. A lot of the time they discover a game then get really into it. So then they will need to go out and buy that gaming mouse, keyboard and headset. GX Gaming makes a wide variety of gaming peripherals and has put three of their best products together into a single gaming kit called the Gaming KMH 100. It includes GX Gaming’s Imperator gaming keyboard, Maurus gaming mouse and Lychas gaming headset. Kits like this are great because they give you everything that you need in one simple package. I’m actually surprised more companies do not have kits like this. Read on as we take a look at all three products included in this kit."

Tesoro GUNGNIR H5 Optical Gaming Mouse Review
     Thu, May 02 2013 | 12:51P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Yesterday Ubisoft Montreal officially released Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (we received a copy a few days earlier) which is without doubt one of the very few game titles that have ever caught me off guard with their rather unique content and not so much with their graphics (in this case at all). You see this time over Ubisoft designed and released a game with very little eye candy (compared to todays games) but with several clear references to some of my all-time favorite movies like the Terminator, ROBOCOP, Cyborg, Aliens and the Predator and like if that wasn`t already awesome enough ontop of that Michael Biehn from The Terminator and Aliens (has played in several other blockbuster movies including The Abyss, Navy Seals and The Rock) has given his voice to the main character. I know that to some people these lines may seem weird but people around my age who know very well what Im talking about will agree that there`s no better way to enjoy such an amazing game than to play it using all the latest gaming peripherals and that`s exactly what we did starting with the latest GUNGNIR gaming mouse by Tesoro."

Time to Ante Up Again: Poker Night 2 Review @ Techgage
     Wed, May 01 2013 | 7:58P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
A single-player poker game might not sound too exciting at first, but Telltale Games has done a fine job of spicing things up. Its tossed in a collection of recognizable characters, a slew of one-liners and the ability to unlock exclusive items in Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2. The icing on the cake? The games $5 price tag."

Bioshock Infinite Review
     Mon, Apr 29 2013 | 12:22P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
When you do find yourself running low on health, Salt, or ammunition, there is a decent chance Elizabeth will call out to you that she has something for you. With the press of a button you will receive a health or Salt vial, or an entirely new weapon with a filled clip, ready to fire. This happens in almost real-time during battles, so enemies keep moving while the item is thrown and caught. However, it did appear the enemies could not damage you during the perhaps second-long event. Oh, and in case you were worried, she does not need your help in combat. The game is not one giant escort mission."

AZiO KB577U Levetron MECH5 Gaming Keyboard @ Benchmark Reviews
     Sat, Apr 27 2013 | 12:22P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Nowadays, it seems that the term gaming is loosely associated with cheap, low quality, general-purpose peripherals. What then separates the notorious gaming-grade products from the rest? Most modern gaming keyboards feature mechanical keys in an attempt to prevent accidental key-presses and ghosting, issues that gamers are commonly faced with. Macro keys are also desired by gamers, especially those of the MMO genre. Fortunately, many of these features are more or less standard on today`s gaming keyboards; the manufacturers must now appeal to gamers` sense of look and feel instead. With the MECH5, Azio has done an amazing job incorporating many of the features required for today`s gamer. They go a step further by encasing it in a durable, very good-looking body, something that you can tell was intended for gaming by looks alone. In this article, Benchmark Reviews evaluates the AZiO KB577U MECH5 keyboard`s performance to determine if it deserves its gaming badge and is worth your hard earned money..."

     Fri, Apr 26 2013 | 4:27P | Games | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
BioShock Infinite, the third opus of the series and also the most anticipated game of this year was released about a month ago. It received metascores of 95/100 and was ofthen compared to the first BioShock being even better. Here we will not discuss about the game unfortunately, we`re mostly intesrested by the performance side. In this regard, BioShock Infinite makes use of a modified version of the well known optimised Unreal Engine 3 with DirectX 11 support."
